Quark 5.0 or 6.0 to Indesign CS2… Help!
Tuesday, 1 May 2007 @ 9:29I long ago stopped using Quark, although I tried it again—very briefly—and thus own Quark 6.5. I have a Quark doc I want to open in InDesign. I know it’s suppose to be Quark 4 to do that, but unless you have Quark 5, how can you save back to Quark 4? I have this Quark doc in versions 5, 6 and 7. I have InDesign CS2 and I’m on a mac (in case that was a question). Can anyone help?
I thought maybe I could copy elements from Quark and past them into InDesign, but apparently they are mortal enemies and don’t speak to each other the way many (most?) other programs do.
In case someone was very giving and wanted to offer to save it back to Quark 4 for me, I must put out there that the doc is 118 MB. Nice eh?
Help?
I am sorry, I don’t know. I was always able to open old documents directly into InDesign, but perhaps they were older Qwark files?
I have a version of Quark 5 on my work laptop. I can try saving it out for you as a version 4. However the 118MB issue will need a work around. I do not have an FTP site but I have used Pando.com in the past for large files. Let me know what you can work out and I’ll try to help.
Higleytown,
I am so grateful for your offer. How incredibly kind! Someone who lives close by might be able to do the same thing for me, but if not, I wonder if we could transfer it over ichat? Again, your offer is SO generous, I can’t thank you enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you! -Angie
