Thursday, 3 May 2007 @ 22:41

Okay Im back on the Market and I need some good critique of my “one page” portfolio site. I have new projects I want to add but I need some ideas and criticism on changes to make it better.
thanks

    Brad:
The only gripe I have is the justified text on the right hand column. (If only the web had the typography engine of InDesign!) It looks a bit odd with the rivers and none of the other text blocks are justified. I think it would be more consistent to ragged left all of them. The only other thing I noticed was that you left out the “p” in the word “Capabilities” on your PDF resume; it reads “caabilities”

Did you really mean ragged left?

    Nice work Brad!

The eye flow is a little off - I start at the logo and then immediately move to the big column on the right. When looking at applicants, their work is the most important piece to me so I want my eye to immediately move to that piece next. If I’m interested in your work, then I’m interested to learn more about you.

Also, all of the orange blocks look like headers - however, when reading some of them it’s apparent that some are supplementary info about the project. I would give them a different treatment as it is difficult to scan the information quickly.

I’m glad that you provided screen shots of your web sites rather than only linking directly to the sites themselves. Web sites change too often, so I rarely trust a site design unless I see the actual mocks the designer created.

Your menu is organized “print, web, motion, creative direction”, yet your content is organized “web, print, video, direction”. I found this inconsistency a little confusing.
