The text of this book

I was reading a story to my daughter this evening and noticed that within the copyright information inside the front cover, the author has chosen to include information about the typeface used. I wish all books had this information.

If you’re interested, the book is Gossie by Olivier Dunrea and it’s a wonderful book.

Very cool. It’s called a colophon and they used to be around all the time. I think I’ve only see a couple.

Interesting; I wasn’t aware that the colophon also included production notes. I considered myself familiar with the word in regards to its use in referencing printers marks, but now like it even more. How sad that this practice has fallen out of popularity.

More books have them than you’d think, they just don’t usually stand out. I’ve noticed quite a few in my children’s books.
