Utah Graphic Designers who Twitter?

Saturday, 21 February 2009 @ 19:28

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a post about twitter on UGAF yet. I would not only encourage local designers to join and participate, but also would love to follow those of you who have already taken advantage of it.

Utah Graphic Designers Who Twitter?

If you haven’t used twitter yet, or heard about it, now is just as good a time as any. I’ve been using it for a couple months and have found it great for sharing resources, links, design tips and networking with other designers around the world. Plus twitter gives you great opportunities to meet other people and network in real-life through local “tweet-ups”. I’d love to have a local designer tweet-up, perhaps sponsored in part with UGAF?

I twitter using @bradmccall. If you’d like to learn more about the “whys” and “whats”, ping me! If you are a designer who twitters and I don’t follow you, leave a comment here with your twitter name. I think it would be great to assemble a list and do some networking. Thanks!

Signed up a few months ago. But got lost in the hoopla. Im trying to find how to best use this. Can this be integrated with Facebook profiles?

SO, I guess I am not the technologically challenged caveman I always thought I was. Found the integration.

I initially had the integration working in Facebook for my twitter posts, but I turned it off. I found the things I talk about on twitter, aren’t necessarily for the same folks I have on Facebook.

I know a lot of folks who have everybody on everything (Facebook=Twitter=MySpace=Linkedin=etc.) but I tend to go along with the thought that the sites are set up differently for different reasons. I keep Facebook for family and friends; twitter for people who share my interests (networking) or who are generally funny; and Linkedin for coworkers, former coworkers and clients; I don’t do MySpace anymore as I think it’s built more for the tween/teen crowd.

Brad. Good thinking. I didn’t really look at it like that. BTW- I am following your tweets. I enjoy the insight. Thanks again.
