Voting on the finalists in the PS Print Holiday Card Design contest

Thursday, 5 November 2009 @ 19:21

The PsPrint.com $10,000 Holiday Card Contest has now been closed to submissions and the finalists have been selected and posted.

I am excited to announce that my card was fortunate enough to make it to the final round!

If you have the time, be sure to check out the finalists at:

My very own card design/illustration can be viewed and voted on here:

The contest winner will be selected by how many votes their design has. There is no registration or any information required to vote. You can do a quick search on PS Print to see that they are a legitimate print company and this is not a phishing scam.
Be sure to vote for your favorite design!

Thanks everyone!

Introducing the Utah Apple Users Group

Wednesday, 16 July 2008 @ 11:57

I am pleased to announce the formation of a new local users group: The Utah Apple Users Group. We are a group of technophiles that use—and even cherish—products designed by Apple in California. We mainly exist simply as a mailing list where we converse and assist each other.

The state currently has two other related user groups—the BYU Macintosh Users Group and the Utah Macintosh Users Group—but both are affiliated with universities and thus governed by external policies and politics. They are also Macintosh groups, whereas this group covers all things Apple; and, as you are probably aware, Apple has recently expanded it’s product line in significant areas other than their Macintosh computer. UMUG also doesn’t have a mailing list and their forum has been offline for a long time. So, wether you’re a photographer using Aperture, a home theater nut hooking up your Apple TV, an entrepreneur using an iPhone, or a novice with a new iPod, jump on our mailing list and lets chat. We want everyone to feel welcome wether you are a student, a professional, or anyone else.

We do not plan on coordinating any events; we’re going to keep this simple. A website will be coming soon with syndicated news and events and we have an IRC channel for chatting in real time. Join the mailing list by sending an email to utahapple-subscribe@utahapple.org.

Post to group through Google Wave

Thursday, 15 October 2009 @ 16:35

I have created a Google Group for us so that you may “wave” to everyone in the group via Google Wave. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a pretty URL or email address because they were already used and Google has a lame rule that they can only be used once, even if the previous instance has been deleted (which was by me, which makes it even more lame).

Visit the Google Group home page for more information. Join the group and then add the address “utah-graphic-arists@googlegroups.com” to your Google Contacts list. You can then add the group address to new waves and everyone will have access to it.

Note that Wave will bark that that user does not have a valid Wave account when you try to add it. Ignore that and simply strike the return key and the address will be added to your contact list.
