I am looking for a reputable screen printer in the Davis County or Salt Lake City area. Does anyone have any good experiences with any that they can recommend?

Color Calibration Tools

Sorry to take over the message board… but I have another question for the UGAF knowledge bank.

Does anyone have any experience with color calibration tools? I’ve spent some time bouncing around google and haven’t found many resources regarding calibration tools for the graphic design industry. However I did come across these two products:

Anyone have any recommendations or experience with such products?

Reputable Printers

Can any fellow designers out there recommend a good printer? I won’t mention any names but our usual guys has been botching jobs left and right. I would like to find someone locally who we can use consistently, with a good turn-around time and an eye for craftsmanship.

I received a most beautiful Christmas card in the mail this afternoon. I have been anxiously awaiting it’s arrival. The card is from my employer, Omniture, and was designed by my colleague and good friend, Steve Gustavson . The design is excellent and the production is breathtaking. We had the great pleasure of engaging the services of the extraordinary letter press artist Bryce Knudson this year and are sure you will enjoy the finished piece.

Has anyone used this tool much? It seems to be developed for optimizing mobile applications or design. In the era of Web 2.0, I wonder how long it will be before companies really start optimizing and tailoring their online marketing efforts specifically for delivery on mobile devices?

Project Request Forms?

Have any of you ever created a project request form, for clients to indicate what type of projects they want? I need to create a physical form for internal clients to complete for the Creative Services Team.

Does anyone have an example with a list of projects on it, perhaps with checklist of possibilities?

Pantone Colors? How much do you really know about it?

So how much do we all really understand Pantone colors? For instance at my work the corporate Pantone is a green number 377. I generally use 377 C, since a lot of what we do ends up on coated papers, though sometimes not. In the cases that I use a nice, uncoated paper, generally Cougar 100lb cover and 10 lb text, I use 377 U.

C = coated, and is always the best for coated papers? Right?
U = uncoated, and is always the best for uncoated papers? Right?

Well what about CV, CVC or other off shoots? When are they appropriate? How do you handle the print colors for your brands?
