ACME New Years Eve

Tuesday, 4 December 2007 @ 14:10

Invitation

Long time freelance graphic designer, Steven R. “Steve Jerman, has just completed a New Years Eve invitation for ACME Burger Company, a new steak-house style burger place getting great reviews since it’s launch three months ago.

For New Years Eve the restaurant wanted to show off the talents of it’s chef and has put together a 10 course gourmet meal.

Jerman has kept the sparce, industrial utilitarian look of the place and merged it into a European poster design motif. The designer has tried to communicate the special night as not to confuse new and potential customers. Ordinarily the burgers are under $10, but on New Years diners can expect to pay $400 per couple, and get no burgers.

A merry Christmas card

Saturday, 24 November 2007 @ 16:38

I received a most beautiful Christmas card in the mail this afternoon. I have been anxiously awaiting it’s arrival. The card is from my employer, Omniture, and was designed by my colleague and good friend, Steve Gustavson . The design is excellent and the production is breathtaking. We had the great pleasure of engaging the services of the extraordinary letter press artist Bryce Knudson this year and are sure you will enjoy the finished piece.

A WP plugin to make type beautiful

Tuesday, 13 November 2007 @ 14:26

John Boardley, of ilovetypography.com, just posted about a slick new WordPress plugin that cleans type on the fly (converts straight quotes to curly quotes, double hyphens to em dashes, etc). The most impressive feature is that it claims to control widows and orphans!
