Membership

To be a member, you should want to learn more about the graphic arts, what to share ideas with others, join our mailing list, register an account, and personalize your profile. You do not have to pay membership dues, attend events, or participate any more than you wish.

We provide several mediums for engaging in discussions and encourage participation through each as they offer unique ways for expressing oneself and interacting with other members. We recommend approaching the group in the following manner: post ideas, articles, and news to the discussion board; post questions and general thoughts to the mailing list; and converse about anything in our irc channel. Please review our policies before participating.

We also encourage you to join the UGAF LinkedIn Group.

discsussion board

The discussion board allows users to post messages on the website and to leave comments to messages from others. You must be logged in to post. Compose a message within the “post message drawer,” accessed via the tab in the upper-left of every page. Leave replies to posts via the form to the right of the comment section below the post.

mailing list

A mailing list works by many people being subscribed to a list mail serer and email messages sent to a single address are delivered to all subscribers. Usually, one person posts a question or thought and others respond. Each set of related posts are called threads. Some email readers will display these threads in a unique fashion such that replies appear indented under the original message.

Enter your email address in the text field below to subscribe to the mailing list. You may also use the advanced form to unsubscribe, set options, or request a password reminder. Once subscribed, post messages by sending emails to ugaf@ugaf.org. Visit the archives to browse past threads.

Instant Relay Chat

UGAF staffs an IRC channel for general discussion on the freenode network. The server address is irc.freenode.net and the channel name is #ugaf.

Post to group through Google Wave

Thursday, 15 October 2009 @ 16:35

I have created a Google Group for us so that you may “wave” to everyone in the group via Google Wave. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a pretty URL or email address because they were already used and Google has a lame rule that they can only be used once, even if the previous instance has been deleted (which was by me, which makes it even more lame).

Visit the Google Group home page for more information. Join the group and then add the address “utah-graphic-arists@googlegroups.com” to your Google Contacts list. You can then add the group address to new waves and everyone will have access to it.

Note that Wave will bark that that user does not have a valid Wave account when you try to add it. Ignore that and simply strike the return key and the address will be added to your contact list.
