Position:
Assistant Graphic Designer
$10,000 - $30,000

Description:
Under the direction of the Creative Services department, assist in designing and creating printed materials for the college administration, departments, and programs. Assist in designing and producing professional illustrations for use in college publications. Assist in working with freelance illustrators to meet publication requirements. Assist in coordinating the art production of the quarterly alumni magazine and other College Marketing materials. Assist in maintaining college photo library by assisting in taking professional photos, working with freelance photographers and other sources.  

Required skills:
(1) Knowledge of graphic design and the creative process.

(2) Skill in computers and computer applications, including PhotoShop, InDesign, Freehand, and Illustrator on a Mac platform.

(3) Ability to design quality communication tools.

(4) Ability to use a digital camera.

(5) Ability to produce professional illustrations by hand and on the computer.

(6) Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

(7) Ability to communicate effectively.  

Required experience:
Associate's degree in Graphic Design AND one year of full-time paid experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of post high school education and/or full-time paid experience related to the summary of duties totaling three years. Part-time experience is prorated.
