Absolutely not. I'm up to my elbows in Ruby developers! :) I want to
start the Refresh because in my new job I don't work with web folk like I
used to. So if I was totally honest I want to start the Refresh because 1)
I miss talking about design and usability and 2) I need to meet local folks
so I can farm out some design work. But the larger picture is that I think
a Refresh would be good for both the designer and developer communities in
many ways. We would get to know each other and hopefully understand each
other better. And it would hopefully be a terrific way to market yourself.
just for

If you look at the link I sent before (http://www.refreshingcities.org/),
the Refresh is really about "new media". The Refresh idea was born out of
"web 2.0" and the chance that we all have to do the web right. So
enlightened design, standards, Agile development are all possible topics.
I'd love to see an presentation on Photoshop CS3 followed by a comparison of
Django and Rails, for instance.
Here is the Refresh Manifesto:
Let's Gather Great Minds
Let's Share All Of Our Knowledge
Let's All Grow And Learn
Let's Promote Local Talent
Let's Be More Than We Think Can Be
Let's Make Our Cities Better
